At Nanwang, we don’t view Sacos de papel recicláveis as single-use packaging. We see them as raw material in motion. Every bag we manufacture is engineered to return—not as landfill waste, but as high-grade fiber for the next generation of packaging.
Sounds simple in theory? Scaling it in practice requires an uncompromising trifecta: responsible fiber sourcing, recycling-friendly functional coatings, and industrial-grade performance that earns multiple reuses before ever hitting the bin.
Here is how we built a truly closed-loop process from the ground up.
1. Start with the Forest, Not the Landfill
True sustainability begins long before the manufacturing line. We source 100% of our virgin fiber from FSC™-certified forests. This guarantees that every tree harvested is replaced and local ecosystems remain intact.
Responsible sourcing isn’t a marketing checkbox—it is the foundational requirement for a renewable supply chain. Without it, no amount of downstream recycling can offset the environmental cost.
2. The Coating Breakthrough: Protection Without Pollution
For decades, plastic lamination was the default solution for grease and water resistance in paper packaging. While durable, it created a recycling nightmare by rendering the paper un-repulpable.
We solved this industry bottleneck through material innovation:
- Water-Based Barrier Coatings: Delivering the grease and moisture resistance of plastic films without compromising recyclability. Our coated bags enter standard paper recycling streams and break down effortlessly into clean pulp.
- Bio-Based PHA Coatings: Leveraging polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), we offer bio-based coatings that biodegrade naturally—even in home-composting environments—now produced at commercial scale.
- Fluorine-Free Food Packaging: Engineered specifically for QSR and food-contact applications, our greaseproof paper is 100% PFAS-free. It delivers clean, non-toxic barrier performance that fully complies with strict European regulations.
3. Built for the Journey: Performance That Delays the Trash
A bag that tears on its first trip isn’t sustainable—it’s just premature waste.
Nanwang paper bags are engineered for high tensile strength and tear resistance. Rigorously tested across retail, food delivery, and e-commerce environments, our packaging is built to be reused multiple times by consumers before entering the recycling bin—effectively multiplying its functional lifespan without adding a single gram of extra material.
4. What Happens After You Toss It?
Globally, paper boasts a recycling rate between 70% and 77%, rising to ~87% in Europe. Thanks to efficient recovery systems, quality wood fiber can be recycled 5 to 7 times—yielding up to seven product lifecycles from a single tree.
Because Nanwang’s barrier coatings dissolve and separate cleanly during the repulping process, our bags leave behind pure, high-quality pulp ready to be reborn as corrugated boxes, kraft paper, or newsprint.
That is circular economy in action: yesterday’s shopping bag becomes tomorrow’s delivery box.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ahead of the Curve
With the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) setting strict recyclability benchmarks and PFAS bans, compliance has become a major headache for global brands.
At Nanwang, we anticipated these regulations years ago. We don’t adapt to new standards—we build for them:
- Pegada global: Manufacturing hubs across China, Canada, and Indonesia supplying compliant packaging to 200+ countries and regions.
- Certified Rigor: Fully accredited with FSC™, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, BRC, and SEDEX.
6. Built on R&D, Proven by Industry Leaders
Since 2010, Nanwang has evolved from a local paper bag manufacturer into China’s first publicly listed eco-friendly paper bag company.
Our commitment is backed by real capital: with annual R&D investments exceeding RMB 60 million, we continuously innovate in low-VOC inks, water-based coatings, and waste-minimizing automated production lines.
Today, we serve Fortune Global 500 brands across quick-service restaurants, specialty coffee, luxury retail, sportswear, and global e-commerce. They choose us not just for our sustainability reports, but because our packaging works, recycles seamlessly, and remains cost-competitive at scale.
The Loop Isn’t a Vision—It’s Our Daily Operation
Every bag we ship is designed with its next life in mind. For us, circular packaging isn’t an idealistic goal; it’s a standard engineered through smart chemistry and sound economics.
